Ghost Light Reviews is an online arts and entertainment blog based in the vibrant city of Toronto, Canada. It was established in 2019 by student journalist Joshua Chong.

This blog aims to provide constructive reviews of shows and events in the city. In addition to reviews, we also publish insightful commentary and analysis that aims to draw back the curtain on the arts and entertainment industry in Canada. We hope that this blog helps to engage citizens, especially youth, and let them see what this diverse city has to over.

Joshua Chong

Joshua Chong is an undergraduate student at the University of Toronto. He is currently the Associate Features Editor for The Varsity, UofT's official student publication, and is a journalist focusing on investigative journalism and education reporting. He also serves as the Senior Arts & Culture Editor for the Trinity Times, Trinity College's student publication. Throughout high school, Joshua was a student journalist for his school’s award-winning newspaper, Graffiti. He won five Toronto Star High School Journalism Awards for his work and was the publication’s Editor-in-Chief. He recently completed a one year fellowship with the National Ballet of Canada's Emerging Arts Critics Programme, which pairs emerging performing arts critics with professionals from the industry. His work has been published in Intermission Magazine, The Whole Note, and The Dance Current. He also been invited as a guest on CBC's Metro Morning. Joshua is also an avid theatre-goer, amateur playwright, and director. In 2015, he served as the Assistant Director of Sirius Theatrical’s production of My Lakeshore-My Home, a signature event for Toronto’s Cultural Hotspots. More recently, he was selected to be a part of the Toronto Fringe’s Teenjur Young Critics' Programme. Outside of the theatre world, Joshua enjoys playing the violin and cheering on Toronto's sports teams, especially the Raptors.
